
Boticário is a business started in 1977 as a small prescription drugstore in the Southern Brazilian State of Paraná. The manufacturer currently formulates 600 fragrances and products for face and body.
In Brazil, Boticário is a brand with 2,500 shopes, and claims to be the world's largest cosmetics and fragrances franchise. The company operates in fifteen countries with 73 franchised units but also sells to more than a thousand retailers.
Nature Protection
In 1990, the company launched the Nature Protection Foundation, a nonprofit organization that has already sponsored over 700 conservationist projects including studies, scientific research, environmental education programs and direct fauna and flora protection actions all over Brazil. The Salto Morato Natural Reserve protects a significant area of the Atlantic Rainforest, besides being provided with infrastructure for researches, learning and recreation. The foundation was declared a Natural Heritage Site by Unesco.
